I built a Voron Trident over the summer of 2025. It has been very interesting to see how far the world of open hardware designs has come since the RepRap days. Back then, I always felt lucky to have a print finish at all on my self-sourced Prusa i3. Today, you can buy a Voron kit and build yourself a printer that makes parts just as fast, smooth, and accurate as any commercial offering.
My plan for this machine is to eventually add toolchanging for wasteless multi-color and multi-material printing, but for now, I am enjoying the fantastic quality of the rock-solid Voron Trident platform, as well as the processes of tuning for ever finer details.
